Gwin is an eighteen year old orphan living in the town of Victoriam, located on a small island in the nation of Helion. He is intelligent, conscientious, and a hard worker. But lacks confidence, is prone to feeling hopeless, and suffers under the paws of bullies at his school. He has no friends beyond Mifen and Marie in the orphanage. Of all the orphans who have passed through his place of residence, he has spent more years here than anyone else, and he has given up any hope of being adopted or finding a place in the world. However, the day is coming when his entire world will be upheaved, and all the things that Gwin is most afraid of bear down upon him all at once. He must dig deep and uncover his inner strength if he has any hope of surviving what is to come.
